American Girl Store

While we were at the Galleria for the Shine On Saturdays at GapKids,  (Today is the last day by the way!)  my daughter Joy noticed the American Girl store and begged us to go see it.  My girls have never had any American Girl dolls, but Joy has a magazine that we recieved and she loves to dream through it.

I had no idea what we were going to see when we walked into this store.  It is amazing.  The first floor had dolls, furniture, clothes and accessories galore.  But the upstairs is what took their breath away.  First there is the American Girl Cafe where girls can have lunch with their doll.  They have highchairs that hook to the table to accommodate the doll, and who is also served play food along with the meal!  How fun is that!  If you don’t have a doll or didn’t bring it, they have plenty that you can dine with anyway.  We didn’t eat, but I agree with the girls, it would be fun!

Then there is the doll hair salon!  Actual doll stylists comb and fix the dolls’ hair.  If that doesn’t beat all!  Joy wants so badly to go back.  She says she is saving her money for a doll and wants to spend her Mommy and Me day here.  I can’t imagine that she would be able to save that much money, but I would love to take her again some time to enjoy the fun without the boys!

If you’re ever near a store, you’ve got to go in and look around.  I’ve never seen anything like it!

I didn’t know there was an American Girl store at the Galleria! I’m not in the market for a doll, but I’ve never been to one, not even the one at MOA. I’ll have to check it out.

How fun. I wish we had one here. Bianca has my American Girl doll from when I was little and I think she would have a lot of fun in that store. I probably would too.

My daughter has American Girl dolls and we got a store near us a while ago. Even though she’s outgrown them now, I still love to go in there with her and look around. It’s amazing. Every little girls fantasy and Mom’s too! Such fun!

My child has discovered the American Girl doll compliments of her grandmother and my credit card. I did not realize it would go that way but a lot of $$$$ later we walked out of the store with an American Girl doll, outfits for both of them, a lunch and an ear piecing for the new member of our family. We are military in the U.K. and all our child keeps saying is her first stop new summer is the American Girl store. I hope she is saving her $5 a week allowance because it will be hard to convince me the need for another one. But lunch and grooming she can count on. It is am amazing store and concept.

I love American Girl! 🙂 The dolls were always too expensive for me to have one, but I got the magazine and the catalog for a long time. I’d positively drool over the catalogs when they came. I also read several of the books and credit them with giving me a love of history – I love the human element of it.
