My daughter Faith and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Olive Garden and then headed to our hotel for our over night adventure! Securing a hotel was quite the ordeal. I REALLY wanted to stay in Grapevine, but hotels in Grapevine are ever so much more expensive than other areas of the metroplex, but we were going to be spending the next day in Grapevine and there doesn’t seem to be all the crazy traffic that you find in other areas, and you know me and driving! SO I went to Priceline.com entered my own price and closed my eyes. I danced a jig when I saw what hotel I got–Courtyard by Marriott!
When we walked in, Faith exclaimed, “Wow this is a nice hotel!” The man at the counter looking at my Priceline payment smirked. Yes, with a family of seven we go for economy.
The hotel has only been open for nine months and everything still looks and smells brand new. It was gorgeous. The room was spacious and comfortable.
We loved the sitting area facing the TV. On our way we picked up drinks and snacks and were hoping to catch a good movie. As it turned out How to Train Your Dragon came on shortly after we turned the TV on! Fun! We watched the movie and then stayed up late talking and playing our electronic game addictions.
In the morning we ordered our breakfast at the restaurant bar.
Everything here is so pretty and spacious. One thing we loved about the decor was the unique lighting everywhere we went.
We each ordered a breakfast burrito that came with eggs, black beans, corn, and poblano peppers–though they will make it a la cart. They were delicious but we should have just split one. With half we were stuffed even though they didn’t look that big!
The pool in the back ground is huge. We had planned on swimming, but decided not to in the evening and then in the morning we were excited to get going. As it turned out that was a good thing because when I unpacked I found my swimsuit…and not hers!
As you can see the courtyard is gorgeous!
This would be the perfect hotel to have a family gathering as there are so many places to sit and visit! We loved staying at Courtyard and are still so happy it worked out for us to be there.
So how much did we pay? Drum roll please. We paid $50 naming our own price on Priceline.com, though I think it is worth every penny of the published prices!
