LEGOLAND Discovery Center hosted our family for a day; however, all opinions are my own, as always! 😉
When I asked my son what he wanted to do for his birthday the only option he gave me was, “Go to LEGOLAND!” He absolutely loves it. Since his birthday was on Saturday, we spent the morning there with the family.
It’s funny how each time we visit our day is completely different from the time before. Sometimes I direct where we start and finish, but this time I just let the birthday boy choose. He went right for the LEGO City Play Zone and the kids spent hours in there. Joy organized a fort building group effort–her favorite thing to do.
Before they were through it was over their heads and almost to the top. It was kind of a bittersweet moment as Joy was right at the top of the height limit to enter the play zone. This was probably her last time to build LEGO forts in there. Sniff!
The park was pretty crowded on this Saturday so my little boy chose to avoid the lines and just build. When I finally pulled the kids out of the Play Zone went directly to build and race cars–also a favorite activity.
The kids have so much fun and learn lots as they build cars and try to figure out what makes some of them faster than others and how to build the cars so they will stay together throughout the race–engineers in the making!
And don’t think for a second that building cars is just for boys, oh no. My girls love to build and race cars with the best of them!
If Joy was getting too tall for the Play Zone then Bobby was also getting too big for DUPLO Village for toddlers. My kids are growing up!
And this sweet, shy girl always has to give Karaoke a try. Good for her. It’s always something that seems so fun, if only I was confident enough about my singing ability.
It’s always neat to go through MINILAND and see the amazing LEGO construction in there. I think working here is my daughter Joy’s dream job, just build with LEGOs all day!
As we were headed out we notice the line over at Merlin’s Apprentice Ride was very short so we ran for it. They got to fly high on LEGOs! Woo hoo!
There is so much to do at LEGOLAND Discovery Center. We will have to go back to take advantage of some of the other great attractions.
