Grace’s ninth birthday arrived at Grandpa and Grandma’s cabin in Okoboji, IA. She had enjoyed a preparty celebration with her BFF at Medieval Times so she didn’t complain that much of her day was spent traveling. Her grandparents made her day special with a yummy taco meal. Funny side note as I am from Mexico, I don’t make hard shell tacos, so my kids think it is something very special, naturally. 🙂 We all enjoy them at Grandma’s!
They also made Grace’s day with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen!
Make a wish! I always wonder what they wish for, but I think lots of this little girl’s wishes did come true this last year.
Her school year began in turmoil, but she was able to see how God worked things out for her good. She is a happy little girl now most of the time. If you’ve seen the movie Inside Out, she’s my little “Sadness.” Though I don’t really think of her as being sad, there were so many similarities between her and the character in the movie. She loves to giggle endlessly with her friends, but is the one who will sit quietly and listen and care about those around her. She has the tenderest of hearts, even bursting out in tears when her brothers kill the ants in the house. “But God made them, and they are good little ants!”
I pray that she will hang on to that sweet spirit! I am so thankful for nine years with this precious girl and look forward to seeing what God has in store for her.

Happy Birthday to Grace! It looks like a very special party. Grandparents are great! It sounds like she’s a precious girl who has a sweet heart for God. Good job mom!
