A great Mother’s Day

Yep.  I had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  Actually our celebrations lasted for several days.  Jason very much surprised me with a gift.  I have long since quit expecting gifts on holidays.  It was a tough thing for me in our first couple of years of marriage, but when I gave up on that idea that he must give me gifts, I began to just enjoy what he did do rather than lament what he didn’t do.  Ya know?

Well this year I received a package in the mail…

sharisberriesfrom Shari’s Berries!  I have never been more shocked at a gift from him.  He’s the guy that wouldn’t buy me a $5 Coke at Disney on our honeymoon.  The fact that he thought ahead to purchase something, have it sent to me, and then that it was something ridiculously expensive that I could EAT just blew me away!  I loved the strawberries.  Every bite was amazing.  No, I didn’t share!  Well, I did give Jason one, but as for the kids I bought them strawberries and chocolate dip and that was that!  Ha ha!  This is one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever received!

Then on Saturday I took two of my girls to the Mother/Daughter Tea.  That was…fun!  I wrote about all the ways I embarrassed myself here!

The kids all brought me little cards and gifts Mother’s Day morning.  They were so sweet.  Bobby watched them all then got his bottle, held it out to me and said, “For you!”  Then he crawled up in my lap so I could hold him while he drank it!  Aw!

Sunday we spent the day at church and then in the evening Jason took me to a favorite fast food taco place.  It was my choice.  He would have taken me somewhere nice, but you know, with all the kids sometimes a cheap kid friendly place is a lot more fun.

I had a wonderful weekend, such great memories.  Then Monday I received an email from him asking me if I wanted to go out to Johnny Carino’s for Mother’s Day.  Uh yeah!  So what that I had a meal in the Crock Pot.  It was great left over!  😉  And so the holiday festivities came to an end.  I felt unduly celebrated!

The chocolates look so good that I want to reach into the box and grab one!
