This year was Faith’s third Grand Prix race. I told you about her first race and why it didn’t go so well. Last year her car did pretty well, but she didn’t place at all. This year we expected to be much like last year. We sat patiently for race after race. Her car placed first and second, but didn’t win in the finals. We were all tired and ready to go home when it was time for the trophies. And then…
Her name was called! She won first place in race car design. Her very first trophy! She could not have been more excited. She couldn’t wait to tell her younger sister who she has watched win the boat race every single year. When Faith told her that she had won a trophy, Joy responded, “I have four.” (Insert maternal frown here.)
“That’s great. You did a good job!” responded Faith happily. She didn’t let the unkind words dampen her spirit, nor did she try to put her sister down. Oh how I long to see this kind of character in my children. That was worth ever so much more than any trophy!

Many congratulations to Faith from her grandma!
Excellent. May she have many more wins…
Congratulations Faith! You ROCK!!
Woo-hoo! Way to go, Faith!
