A Dog and Her Toys

I looked out the window in the back door.  Our Golden Retriever had compiled all of her backyard toys and her food dish in a pile in direct line with the door.  There she sat staring at me with her big eyes.  With heart melting I left the kids’ school work momentarily to get the dish to feed the dog.  When I got to her pile, I decided to redistribute her toys to give her something to do.  I hurled one this direction another that direction; then I bent down to grab the final toy.  With fingers inches away I realized it was a dead mouse!  “Ahhhhgh,” I jumped around and screamed as if it were alive.  Then imagining faces in every neighbor’s window, I ran inside.  Ew.  Thanks a lot, doggie, but no more presents, please!

The kids and I laughed and laughed at Mama’s little fit.  Laughter–it’s one of life’s simple pleasures!

Today we are linked to Simple Pleasures.

It’s the best feeling to know that you can make a complete fool of yourself and still laugh about it!

OMG!! Esther I would have totally freaked out too!!…ewwwwww….in my case, my little fur baby is only 4 lbs and teeny-tiny and lives inside as our baby (we can’t have any kids)…I think the mouse would be bigger than her…So I feel confident this won’t happen to me…(knock on wood) lol

Wear some gloves next time *_^

My cat chased me around the house with a live mouse one day. I was screaming and running away and she kept dropping the mouse in front of me and then catching it again. I wasn’t sure who was going to have a heart attack first me or the mouse!

This made me laugh out loud. I would’ve had the same reaction to a dead mouse. 🙂 So glad you linked up to Simple Pleasures. Hope to see you often.
