5 Tips for a Stress Free Easter

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of HoneyBaked Ham.  All opinions are my own.

5 Tips for a Stress Free Easter #HoneyBakedEaster Meal #adPicture this.  A relaxing, stress free Easter of laughing and enjoying a day with family.  Yeah, I know; it’s tough!  If you’re a mom, then you’re probably like me–a frazzled mess on Easter Sunday.  Easter morning is spent at church celebrating the resurrection, but my family expects a feast when the service is over.  So I usually spend all day the Saturday before cooking to have the perfect meal.  And actually, I really enjoy a day of cooking when I have the time, but let’s face it, with our busy schedules a full day of cooking is hard to come by and sometimes is impossible.  If there is one thing I have learned as a busy mother of five, it’s that I cannot do everything myself, accepting help is ok!  Here are a few tips to help us all enjoy the day without all the stress.

1.) Plan ahead!  Easter is early this year–Sunday April 5!  Are you prepared?  This is something I used to be good at, but have found myself very much lacking of late.  Have gifts and Easter activities purchased and planned before the weekend.  Lay out clothes and SHOES the night before.  It seems no matter how hard I try to have the children ready on time there is always one child running around the house looking for shoes when it’s time to head out the door.

2.) Make a menu.  I can’t tell you how many times I have forgotten to make important dishes or just forgot to put them on the table.  It helps so much to make a final run through a list.

3.) Take advantage of delicious pre-made food like from The HoneyBaked Ham Co. store.  You just don’t have to do it all yourself.  When you’ve been working hard and want to enjoy the day rather than work the weekend away cooking, visit The HoneyBaked Ham Co and go home with a delicious Easter meal you just have to heat up.  Give yourself a break.  It’s okay!

4.) Get the family involved.  For years I thought I had to do it all myself.  Getting the kids involved in the planning can help them be more excited about helping.  Since they are always a little disappointed when they find out I’m not cooking, I got them excited about our pre made Easter meal by letting them choose the sides.  They had so much fun!

Bring a great attitude and a sense of humor.  Take it from me, no matter how hard you try something always goes wrong whether it’s a glass knocked over or a fight breaking out at the table, life just isn’t picture perfect, but with a great attitude and a sense of humor the everyday mishaps can be turned into great memories to be rehashed over and over.  Don’t miss the opportunity!

Having a #HoneyBakedEaster #adAfter our shopping outing at the HoneyBaked Ham store, the entire family was super excited to try all the yummy food we picked out.  Now I KNEW the HoneyBaked ham would be awesome!  HoneyBaked is known to be the  most flavorful, moist, and tender ham finished with it’s signature sweet, crunchy glaze, and we were not disappointed!   Each HoneyBaked Ham is slow smoked for more than 20 hours for perfect tenderness.

#HoneyBaked Smoked Turkey #adWhat did surprise me was the smoked turkey.  Y’all I had no idea turkey could taste this good.  My entire family down to the little kiddos are completely in love with HoneyBaked Smoked Turkey!

Best ham ever! #HoneyBakedEaster #adThis little guy–it is so hard to get him to eat.  When I saw how he was chowing down on his ham, I knew we had a winner.  This is the most I’ve seen him eat at a meal in a long time!

Sharing a #HoneyBakedEaster #adThe sides we brought home were all delicious–every one!  The Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, Green Bean Casserole, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Sweet Potato Souffle were all amazing.  My husband commented over and over that he couldn’t believe how good it was.  “If Grandma had had access to a HoneyBaked Ham store, I’m sure this is what she would have bought for Easter.”  And that was the highest compliment.  It is after Grandma Doodle that we have patterned our Easter meal, and I agree–she would have approved!

Our super easy, stress free Easter meal took me about an hour to heat up all of the sides and serve.  I hope you get to enjoy a HoneyBaked Easter as well!  To get you started here’s a coupon for $5 off your purchase of $50 or more.  Enjoy!  Expires 4/4/15
