4 Sure Ways to be a Hero to Your Kids this Summer!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods and SheSpeaks. All opinions are entirely my own. WONDER WOMAN and all related characters and elements © & ™ DC Comics and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

Summer is HERE! I am so excited, so much more time with the kids doing things we love. Let’s rock this moms! 4 sure ways to be a hero to your kids this summer:

1. Play with the kids!

Okay so the truth is we have fun all year, but summer just screams fun doesn’t it? We recently moved into a house with a pool and we are loving it.

Hours and hours of fun in the sun: jumping, screaming, playing, and yes, even resting. Now I am one who loves to spend lots of time in the kitchen inventing things, but I don’t like to miss out on fun things like swimming with the kids either.

2. Stock up on Tyson® at Sam’s Club.

I always keep some Tyson® chicken in my freezer for a quick meal. I love to stock up at Sam’s Club. That way I’m always ready with a quick, hot meal in minutes.  I even take Tyson® Chicken to pot lucks. I just back the chicken and then place it in a slow cooker to keep warm. The kids always love me, and I don’t have to spend the day cooking!

3. Prepare a hot meal in less than 30 minutes!

On my last trip Sam’s Club I grabbed a bag of Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and some Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips. We are a family divided. I’m the leader of team Chicken Strips while my rivals scream Nuggets. I aim to please so I just make some of each!

The oven temperature to heat both Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips is 400 degrees so I just fill half the tray with Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips and bake for ten minutes. Then add the Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and return the pan to the oven for an additional 12 minutes. They are both ready in just over 20 minutes.

While the chicken is baking cut up some strawberries…

and throw together a chopped salad and…

Tada! Pool to nice hot meal in less than 30 minutes.

The Wonder Women of our house–if everyone does their part life runs so much smoother.

And oh how I love those happy smiles around the table.

Family meals are so important to me. It’s where we all connect and bring our worlds together. We learn so much about each other over a hot meal.

We end our meal with a round of High-Low. The highs around the table definitely included Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips with a battle over which is better of course. Go team Chicken Strips! 🙂

4. Head to the movies.

Catching a great movie on the big screen is a fantastic way to get out of the heat. We are always looking for a good one. We are huge super hero fans and can’t wait to catch Wonder Woman!

What trait like Wonder Woman do you embody? Find out with this fun Wonder Woman quiz! Mine is courage!

Tyson® has teamed up with Wonder Woman to help you to provide your kids protein to help fuel their summer. Look for the Wonder Woman movie graphics in the Sam’s Club freezer where you can stock up and save the day.

There you go! Those are my tips for a great summer. What would you add? However you roll, remember to make the most of your time with your kids. They grow so fast. You got this!

Not a chicken fan, but I don’t mind these strips and nuggets. I do love the family fun!
