Texas Peach Harvest

I’ve told you a little about my husband’s love of planting trees here and here.  Ever since we moved to Texas about 10 years ago Jason has wanted a peach tree.  Two years ago he paid $15 each for two little trees.  I really thought we’d never actually get any peaches, but I was wrong.  Those two little trees have really done well and this year produced many peaches.

We did a little research and found that when the peaches are slightly soft and come off the twig easily they are ready.  A few days ago we noticed that they were almost ready.  The next time we went to check on them the bugs had devoured lots of them.  We all went out and enjoyed our peach picking day!

Just look at our box of peaches!  Aren’t they beautiful?  We are so proud of them.

My Dad and Mom helped me peel and slice peaches after the kids went to bed.

When the dessert was done we surprised the kids with an after bedtime dessert.  It was delishious and I felt very Little House on the Priarieish.  :)

I’m linked with Heavenly Homemakers.
