Bobby asked me what the girls were doing. Knowing he knew full well what I sent them to do I just said something off the wall. “They are upstairs eating pizza and drinking Cokes.” He looked appropriately shocked and exclaimed, “What is happening the world?”
I have a habit of making up silly little songs and singing them to the kids just to get a reaction. “I have a boy who loves me just a little bit…” I sang. Without missing a beat Bobby caught me totally by surprise when he sang right back at me in the same little tune, “No, I don’t. I love you a lot!”
One day I asked him, “Do you just think life revolves around you?” He looked a little puzzled and said, “God made us!”
Another day I asked him, “What happens when you’re naughty?” I expected any number of answers. He thought for a minute and replied, “You a dragon!”
First thing in the morning the kids were all shouting at the same time, “Can I have a muffin? Can I have a cinnamon roll?”
Bobby came walking toward me and said, “I don’t want a muffin or cinnamon roll. I just want you!” and climbed up in my lap. Aw!!!
