North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas

Ever since we moved here seven years ago I have wanted to go to the Irish festival and every year something has come up preventing my going until this year!  On Saturday we loaded our Irish clan and drove to Fair Park.  (I’m actually venturing farther than 5 miles from my home.  It’s great to feel good again.)

There was a building with lots of different crafts for the kids.  The girls loved this and did quite a few of them.

Little Jason loved petting the dogs from the animal rescue.  Just after he pulled his hand out two of the dogs tore into each other.  It was quite frightening for the little guy.

Bobby was the perfect little traveler as we strolled him around.

My review:  The tickets were quite expensive, but discounts were available online and kids 11 and under were free, so we paid $28, which I thought wasn’t too bad for all of us.  There was a fee for parking.  Food and drinks were not allowed inside the parks so we planned to eat lunch there.  The website said prices were reasonable considering the taxes and fees they have to pay.  That very well may be, but for a family of seven the food prices were outrageously expensive.  The main attraction is the musical shows and my crew wasn’t much for sitting and watching someone play an instrument.  I would have enjoyed the shows!  Still, the kids had a blast and my husband tolerated it all very nicely.

I’ll tell you about my experience with the food tomorrow!  :)
