My Parents’ 50th Anniversary (Celebrate With Us Link-Up)

My parents recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  They said they didn’t want a big shindig but would prefer a family get-together.  So we made plans and headed to San Antonio to stay in a hotel and visit with family for four days and three nights.

Now many of you expressed that our family vacation looked exhausting, but let me tell you that that’s nothing compared to trying to keep four kids entertained in a hotel room, lobby, and pool for that long!  Jason was my hero and chased the kids around the fountain and pool the majority of the time.  I could not have done it on my own.  When I could take it no longer, we would load them up and go to a McDonalds or a park and let them run off some energy.

I asked the kids later what their favorite thing was, and they said it was the made-to-order breakfast that was included with the price of the room.  They really enjoyed searching for money around, and they adamantly say it was only around, the fountain.  I did see them digging in the rocks around the plants a lot.  I suppose people throw money at the pool from the balcony and often miss because the kids collected over $4!

We went to a steak house to celebrate my parents’ anniversary and then congregated in one of the suites.  My sister Sara and her college-age girls put together a beautiful slide show with pictures of my parents through the years. They also sang a few romantic songs.  It was great to get together and visit with family even though we did miss my brother and his crew, who live in Minnesota and couldn’t make it to Texas at this time.I’m linked to Marriage Mondays.

Now it is your turn.  What are you celebrating?  Please link back so that others can find us and join in too!
