Last year we were traveling for Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to have a fall dinner so I decided to have a family fall festival. I cooked all day while the kids planned activities and games in their rooms.
The Menu: pork roast, sweet potatoes, sweet corn, caramel fondue with fruit dippers, zucchini bread with cinnamon butter, Autumn salad with maple cider vinaigrette, apple cider, and pumpkin pie with real whipped cream. I went overboard on the sweet menu, but the kids didn’t complain!
A few activities they came up with:
Who ever pulls out a blue lego with out looking wins.
Faith read a pumpkin story to everyone.
Joy prepared a puppet show.
Smash the legos game.
Bean bag toss.
We had such a good time all day. The kids keep asking me if we’re going to do this again this year. I think we’re staying home for Thanksgiving. Maybe we’ll do it on Thanksgiving Day! We’ll see!
